In love with yesterday
It’s hard not to be in love with yesterday,
Because eventually everything turns into yesterday.
They say the memories you make will last a lifetime,
And at some point a lifetime turns into yesterday too.
Today secretly alludes to our yesterdays and tomorrows.
Not one is more significant than the other.
However both work in conjunction,
Directing each passing day down the highway to yesterday.
Tomorrow has potential.
Supported by the shadows of today,
Its mystery promises grand hopes and dreams.
Tomorrow relaxes into consistency of talk and action,
Only to become a memory of yesterday.
It’s hard to be in love with yesterday.
To be in love with yesterday assumes that the best days are gone,
When in reality yesterday predicts todays well lived
And tomorrows worth living.
In love with yesterday… today and tomorrow.
