Love Yourself

I'm sitting here

alone and scared and upset

I spill on the page about how

it's always been about you.

Tomorrow I'll be sitting here

crying and overthinking everything

and think about

how it's always been about you.

But a year from now I'll be

writing my thoughts down to keep me sane,

listening to the fresh words of new friends,

singing along to my favorite song,

studying in the city of my dreams,

and loving myself

because I'll realize that all along

it's always been about me.
