lovelorn

call this sinking feeling home

and refuse to break away from it

bury your body within the drywall

and fill the tub with regrets

i wonder what we’d be like

if we just put this to rest

and on the ride home

when the quiet, nestled pieces of the night creak and slip between us like ice

i’ll hold your hand, and you’ll hold mine

and we’ll act like nothing is falling apart

like you’re not losing me

like i’d ever had you to begin with
