Lovely Nameless
Hello
dear lovely
nameless.
I do not know your name
you don't know who I am
I'm glasses
that is all I am
to you
I am sure
glasses
and a weirdo
So I will try not to get my hopes up.
Because I heard you talking about some other guy
not too long ago
and I offered you free hugs in the dark
and for those you wouldn't go
I've asked to wear your flannels
and you must think me a creep
Your hair is brown
your face is round
and that is all
I think
Your name's not there
I'm too afraid
to say a word to you
evaded you I did
today
You notice not
I think.
Offered carrots were a plea
unwittingly of me
And with a smile you seemed to wonder but I was not
too sly
I cannot know
and never will
what will become of
this
But I see you
you don't see me
and end gives way to
mist.
Oh well.
