Lover

My Achilles heel

Sings no songs of sweet sorrow

For my Achilles heel

Takes the shape of my lover

Dear warmth

Her words spread across my world

Whispering sweet beginnings

Tracing delicate arches

Capturing my breath

As I look away

We’re spinning, faster, faster

And like the lighter air

I can see nothing but her

Bright eyes bounding

more than love

Her intricate smile

takes my hand

brushes my arms

pulls my waist from behind

And leads, leads, leads

My Achilles heel

Sings no songs of sweet sorrow

But instead

Gifts the awe of an everlasting kiss
