Lovers Return

They returned to reminisce on the times they had together.

Relaxing, and watching the sunset.

Closing their eyes to listen to the intense rush of the waves on the sand and the slow retreat they made back to the ocean. 

 

They returned to regain the affection they once had for each other.

Even though that affection was lost, the love would never die.

 

They reminisced on all the hopes and dreams they once held.

On the adventurous souls they once were.

On the long talks about any topic possible--the weird ones that others found awkward.

The normal ones that were needed. The deep ones that made them grow all the fonder for each other. 

 

They remembered all the times where words were not needed.

Where they could solely sit in each other's presence, cherishing the time they had, cherishing the future they planned had together.

 

Most of all, this place showed that the love and emotion displayed is concrete,

that the way their souls immersed together, will stay together for eternity. 

They would come to this sacred place knowing and clarifying that what they share is true.

They’d always come back to not only this place, but also to the never-changing love they have for each other.
