LOVE'S GUISE

Unwanted "love"...

Sent NOT from above.

My soul craves it not...

Once on its lap I did rot.

Now I can see its face...

Before I see disgrace...

For as long as the illusion vies...

For its unrightful place.

Save me from the "love" that is unreal...

The "love" that only tries to steal.

Save me from the "love"...

That ever aspires to take me higher...

Only to leave me drowning in its mire.

The "love" that only leaves one to languish...

Is never worth its weight in anguish.

For "love" that wants only to abscess...

Is not "love" at all nor is its caress.
