Loving
Loving him feels tangible.
Not like it's some abstract dragon
I keep chasing and never actually get to touch.
Loving him feels like the dust is finally settling
as it reflects golden hour light.
Loving him feels warm as cheeks kissed
by the warmth of winter sun,
and cool as noses nipped by sea breezes.
Loving him
can be felt in real time
can be heard in echoes
can be smelled in my sheets
can be seen in every smile he creates
and can be tasted in sweet kisses placed
on my forehead, and collar bones, and cheeks.
Loving him is shocking and unexpected
but nothing in the world has ever felt more right.
