Loving the Adored

Do you know my name?
Or am I just a third player,
To a two player game?

Do you recognize me?
Or am I just a nameless character?
When you're the lead.

I remember smiling to you in the halls.
The times I wanted to talk to you,
But just didn't have the balls.

Did you ever notice?
All the times I held the door open as you passed through?
Or writing cheesy love poems
Right in front of you.

I've just got to face the facts.
You've got better people to be with and see.
They must have something I lack.
But you'll never know this
Because this is something you'll never read.
