Loving Me
I could explain how my boyfriend's blue eyes can somehow always tell when my green ones aren't as glimmering on my bad days.
I could describe my mother's hands on my back rubbing my shoulders in a bear hug each time I see her.
I could describe every single word each of my siblings and best friend's would say to me to cheer me up, and every word would succeed in making me smile.
But I love her so much more than I ever thought I would ever love anyone else in the world.
I have fought her and hated her and wished she was dead, somehow to come to this place where she is the most impotrant person in my life.
I get out of bed because I love her. I shower and go to school because I love her. I put myself through college and work my butt off because I love her. I decided to keep breathing because I love her.
The girl staring back at me in my mirror, lingering a little too long on all her imperfections, sighing from time to time wishing she looked just the slightest bit different, is still perfet to me as I walk away from the glass.
I finally look at myself with pride, and value that I come before anyone else in my life. I never thought I'd even live this long, let alone care about myself.
I live because I love her.
