Loving You
My tears come flowing out of my eyes like the niagara falls
A thunderous river comes flowing down my face
As water shoots down the rocks and fall into the river below
My tears shoot down my face and begin to stain my yellow blouse
Were not together anymore
But baby how can you throw away two years of loving me
Our two families becoming one
All of our memories
The vows you would whisper to me at night
I can't accept this breakup, so i plead and beg for you to take me back
And i didn't mind begging if that meant i could feel your arms around my body another time
Or the warmth of your soft lips as they touch mine
But i was met with the cold
You said you no longer loved me
So i cried some more because how was i losing the most important person of my life for over two years
Who am i supposed to say good morning to everyday now
Who was going to understand me and be my best friend
I had you and only you
But now
You
Are
Gone
Weeks went past and the tears stopped
When anger took its place
you sat and watched me beg for you as if i was begging for my life
There was no mercy in your face or your voice as you left me
It was like i meant nothing
My grief grew into bitterness at the thought of you
I begged for your love that had never learned to be generous, a love that only came in fragments
I always knew that I loved you more than you were even capable of loving me
You would even admit it to me
But i didn’t mind because it meant i got to keep you as long as your love stayed
But when someone loves you less they show it
I had to beg you to compliment me or to give me your attention
It took asking over and over again to get you to text me a few times during the day
After all we were doing distance
So get lost
For having me learn how to accept a lesser fate, for pretending that love was supposed to look like this
For not loving me the way a man should love a woman
For wasting two years of my life
For your reckless care with my heart
For making my pillow wet in tears most nights
For making me bend down and kneel for you like you're a god just for a spec of attention
Making me beg for your love
Making me beg for you to take me back when you could have been so clear
So kick rocks
And thank you for teaching me how love shouldn’t feel
And for strengthening me as a women
