Lovingly Yours, Me

My thoughts are chasing themselves in infinite circles.

Everything circling back to you,

The one who loves me, and whom I love

I wonder constantly what you would think of me

I want to tell you everything

To talk until we share everything and you know me better than I know myself

I’m scared sometimes of revealing too much

That I will someday be too much for you to love

But I am reminded time and again that

Love is endless

And you make me want to be better than I am

As wonderful as you seem to think I can be

I just want to watch you and love you forever

Your supernova smile, just for me

Your short letters left in my books

My head on your shoulder or in your lap

Your trust in my ability to fix your problems,

Never asking what I can’t give you

So that I’ll never have to surrender my being again.

Because love is not a tug of war,

Love is twined threads of acceptance.
