Lukey

The younger Kate born 1998.

Innocence in abundance as daddy worked late.

Bisquick pancakes and distant parents.

Making trouble and eating double.

I knew no other way.

Big brother Lukey would constantly tease,

punching and joking until on my knees.

Now he's grown up,just turned nineteen,

as he waits to come home from this bootcamp of Marines.

We cry each time eachother recieves a letter

Because without my older brother,

my life would never get better.
