Lullaby for the Sleepless

Let the wind lie on the mattress Where the blankets, few and bare, Cannot cover up the baroness, Radiant with despair. Let the rain fall up the window To the cloud from whence it came. Let fall away the tears in silence Of the Widow Pain. Let fall away, fall away, All that night obscures. Let fall away, all the things you think cannot be cured. Let the ceiling start to crumble, As the walls unhinge themselves. Let tumble all the doors and windows; Bar the exits well. Let the moon smile on the wreckage Of the foolish mortal mind, For nature knows that nature will re- pair itself in time. Let fall away, all the madness that you thought was real. Let fall away the sorrow that you thought you'd always feel. Let fall away, fall away, Fall away the night. Let fall away, fall away, Fall away the night. Let the wind lie on the mattress...
