Luminescence
In the midst of night, a candle is lit
The candle seeks out knowledge and to learn is a gift.
The candle sways and leans, illuminating the scene
For the candle yearns to dream and succeed.
The candle ages and to age is to mature,
The candle's flame begins to yearn and churn.
There is no longer an ambition involved,
Rather there is a struggle to just get it dissolved.
The candle now dwindles and falters.
Chasing its everlasting potential, it may be an imposter.
For to being lit is to being put out.
The candle no longer fears the drought.
