Lust

1 John 1:8

8 If we say we do not bear the guilt of sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us.

Lust: Gratify the desires of your sinful nature

We‘ve got it all or do we now

as it burns down to the core?

It demands our thoughts and somehow

its wants are more and more.

You can’t remove it or deflect

when it rages through your flesh.

It boils and bubbles and takes you back

to the deepest recess of the human mess.

You have no control as it hides your soul

normal reason is completely lost.

All falls apart what was just whole

as it demands satisfaction at any cost.

Should you give in to what is considered sin

why is your willpower almost gone?

You’re frozen now like a bowling pin

as the ball comes rolling on.

You hate yourself or do you now

for that part of you that so oft rules.

When it comes and goes no one knows

but it crushes common sense for sure.

You lose respect for the opposite sex

on the rampage, you hurry and scream.

You play your hand with an incomplete deck

as your spirit in the end gets creamed.
