Made to Grow

Words spill onto the paper from my pen.

Words that shape and create new realities.

All our secrets here lay bare.

Truth made plain in black-and-white.

Here there is no maybe.

Here everyone is free.

Words burst free like raging rivers too long

Confined in man-made dams.

Words that express and show our deepest,

Quietest Hopes.

Hope that even we cannot admit to ourselves.

But here our Hope is not oppressed.

Here the Hope is made to grow and grow and

Grow into something

Unstoppable.

I write to show the truth,

I write to find the Hope,

I write to see a new tomorrow.

Elizabeth Elia

I am a 16 year old junior in high school. I've been writing poetry for 5 years, and writing stories my whole life. I write because I can put what I see in my mind onto paper, for everyone else to see, and I love to write; the possibilities are endless. I hope that you, or anyone else reading my bio, will read my poetry. And if you do read my poetry, I hope that it speaks to you, as it has spoken to me. Thank you.
