Magnanimous

Push me down into the dirt

I’ll get up, and dust off my shirt

Tripped until I land on my face

Yet still I walk with poise and grace

Bullied to the point of tears

But I’ve gotten wiser over the years

Knowing when to stand strong

Or when to admit I’m the one who is wrong

No matter how hard life seems to be

I’ll never be anyone other than me

Overwhelmed with anxiety and constant stress

Caring too much for people who couldn’t care less

Standing up for things that I believe

Working hard for what I want to achieve

Figuring out exactly who I’m supposed to be

But in its entirety, this is me.
