Magnifying Glass
Magnifying Glass
Little girl, little girl let’s take a look through your eyes. What are you seeing at the tender age of five? Playing hide and seek running around with friends. Your joy and happiness never seems to end. As a young one life is lavish, so innocent and pure. Yet, I see more through those little eyes, things that you shouldn’t have to endure. She hears her mama’s boyfriend yell with power and so much anger. “You ain’t going nowhere, you gone stay right here with me or your life will be in danger. So don’t you try to get smart, don’t you get no ideas or its gone get bad for you, do I make myself clear?” Baby girl shakes her head with tears streaming down her face. Her mama knows this isn’t healthy she’s not emotionally in a good place. You can see the pain that she endures, it’s in her eyes, no need to cover it up these scars have no disguise. Mama you’re not the only one hurting, you know you’re little one sees it too. Her heart has so much hope for you, you have to help see that through. She wants to see you happy for real and not that façade you try and put on. That man doesn’t deserve your love so you need to get gone. You can do so much better, find something that’s pure. To have something you enjoy, not have to endure. So mama I want you to do something for me make a promise that’s clear and crisp, if it’s that manipulative “because I love you” let it get dismissed.
