Mailroom Blues

I sit here and watch the shoots Envelopes rushing from them Bills, letters, notes, notices Day after day I break a little more The mailroom in my dreams Bills, letters, notes, notices I am the only one in the mailroom So no one else is to blame Bills, letters, notes, notices I smoke a cigarette And see the flame Bills, letters, notes, notices The first one lit with ease No cares in the world the burden was being lifted Bills, letters, notes, notices All I see is amber waves of joy All I see are smoke signals of smiles in the sky Finally no more mail
