Make Americans Great Again

How can I pledge allegiance to the flag

when America has never been great

How do we stand for the Republic

when the fourteen points of fascism

have become a checklist

How are we under God

when we ban a religion from entering

when we forget the suffering of another

How can we be indivisible

when disrespecting another’s existence is a political view

when we ignore the tensions that exist

How is there liberty and justice for all

when the rich exploit the poor

when peace exists without justice

I don’t believe in America,

But I believe in Americans

I believe that Americans can stand for justice

can reject complacency

can make America great

if only they are aware
