Make a difference and change lives

She  is weak, useless, insignificant,time consuming

All she will learn to do is cook and clean, there is no need to educate her

She will just get married off

I am the first female in my family to graduate high school and continue my education

I am  GOING to be a Doctor  and I am GOING to strive

I am GOING to make a difference and GOING to change lives

My gender does not define me ,nor will it stop me

I am going to aim high till my dreams touch the sky

I am GOING to make a difference and I am GOING to change lives

I may have my bumps across the roads but that makes me  who I am

I wear my scars proud and strong and  I carry on

I am determined to  prove them wrong and make them see different

She is not weak , nor is she  useless

she may be time consuming but what child isn't

She is an  investment into YOUR future.

She  WIll be your  next Engineer, Doctor,Lawyer,Pilot

Her dreams will not be shattered by the mere threat of her never getting an education

she will make a name for her family and she will make  them proud

she isn't any different from her Brother they  have the same rights

to attend a school and get an education

She is GOING to make a difference and she is GOING to change lives

She is me and that is my  story it only began this way

But surely won't end this way

I am GOING to make a difference and I am GOING to change lives

I am going to make  you proud and make  your tears roll from your eye

that beautiful baby girl that  they thought was useless, has become a proud women

she is standing tall and strong and aiming high

I will be a leader and I will prove them wrong

I will have them educate and keep that dream strong

i want all these young little girls who have great dreams

to be able to  achieve them and carry on

she will make a difference and she will change live

I am strong , Independent , Hard Working and confident

I stand for  the girls that never got a chance to get educated

I am their voice and I will represent their dreams

I am Binta Ceesay and I  represent the change

for all the girls around the world  that come from families

that don't value their girls that come from cultures that  hide their girls

that come of tradition that don't believe in their girls

We all can make a difference and change lives but our gender does not define us
