The Makeup of My Mind

As time progresses we find ourselves trapped

We fight against aging but remain in its grasp

The clock ticks on and relentlessly taps

So I allow time to evaluate my past

By looking back I am able to decrypt

And better explain what makes me tick

To understand me one must know my mind

The reasons I work and the reasons I cry

I’m spurred by my passions and strongly rely

On those that I love and the use of my eyes

To keep me active and maintain my bliss

And better explain what makes me tick

Since I was young I have relied on my vision

To understand school and make me efficient

At achieving my goals or increasing precision

In whatever activities I want to succeed in

Pictures and visuals help make life click

And provide an insight to what makes me tick

A love for learning and a love for my friends

Helps me to grow and increasingly comprehend

Life as a whole and the hardships it vents

By boosting both pride and confidence

Those who support me help me with

Trying to explain what makes me tick

The ultimate reasons I do anything in life

Are my passions for music and soccer alike

They incorporate my love and use of sight

To essentially produce all my delight

Together these things are what form my grit

And now you know what makes me tick
