Making the darkness fade

 I am so confused,

Going nowhere.

On a dead end street,

starting to stare.

Staring into emptiness,

Losing my way.

Holding onto shadows,

that never promised to stay.

Living in the darkness,

full of this regret.

Remembering how my life has always been a test.

Going down the drain,

As many like to say.

Knowing in my heart,

I'll never be the same.

Life was never easy,

no matter which path I took.

Trying to find an answer,

always failing to look.

Filling up on drugs ,

taking my life away.

All my hopes and dreams,

slowly starting to fade.

Now, as I reach the light,

I look up to God and say:

" Thank you Lord, for helping me, make the darkness fade.
