Making It Through Hard Times

How can we make it through hard times?

Those times when it is hard to put one foot in front of the other

Those times when we are surrounded by darkness and there is no light

The times when we cry out not to be heard by another

When there seems to be no help in sight

When times are so hard that we can only dream of ease

When we have lost the fight for what we believe

When it seems that we have reached the end of the rope

When times are this hard where can we find hope?

But as we push through the darkness we feel our way.

Our steps help us gain our barrings in the dark dark gray

We find new strenghts as we fight to stand

We push forward as more and more we believe that we can

As we strive harder life's fires burn within us anew

We walk through the darkness with new light in view

We find new hope against the odds

We learn how to make it through when times get hard.
