Makings of Me

The meek and self-seeking Daughter, sister, friend. A girl like me. Regina, a young woman God’s making of me, This life’s journey, has not been completed I shall not be defeated. Survivor of the fittest – Quiet, but not shy. Never take my kindness for a weakness. Reader of drama-filled novels. Free of drama. Broke the chains, Save that for your mama! Not letting anything stop me… Strong, standing, still Waiting for the world. Waiting for my future. Time is moving slowly…. Tick, tock, time is of an essence. Just waiting on my moment. Rising to the top! Above the naysayers, haters, And those waiting for me to fail. I will prove them wrong. When I fall, I will stand strong Dust if off – And pull through with hard work. I can hear my name being called. Among my class, graduation day at last! My mother, my father. Finally seeing me succeed. Continuous, clapping, calling out with joy. I made it, I am here. Love, listened, learned. Grew up, life flew by! Seventeen years… I believe I can fly. Make my dreams come true, Achieve it all! Soar towards my future. And when I hear my name called… I will bow, and remember These four years of life. Not just school, but life lessons Write the truth, A brand new story – A new end to another beginning. Flip the page, Read it all. A story of me… Regina, a young woman God’s making of me.
