Mama

Callused hands you worked so hard to smooth

Catch me and I know

Consciously you don't mean for me to see

Grace fall from your eyes

Green and glowing like

Gulps of the lake rising in your throat

Rich like we never were

Reaching for a dream we've only known in films

Ready to shed our skin to get what we deserve
