Mama

Mama never told me Through all the bedtime stories How hard life will be How were never truly free Never gave me insight On life's inevitable fight Or how one mistake Can change entire fate Mama never warned me How much I will hurt From gifting my heart To ones who do not deserve She never told me Not everyone loves like me Even my family Why didn't she tell me Mama never informed me The struggles that lie before me Did not prepare me Maybe because neither she predicted my future to be ©cc1994
