Mama I killed a Man
The Twelfth hour struck
Church bells violently banging into one another
Almost like a set of clackers from the good old days
A cold weary dark night fell upon me
The heavy coat carrying the metal piece in a zippered pocket
It dragged me down due to its immensely heavy weight
How daring am I when I play with my fate
Within minutes I could be behind bars or run and be an outlaw of the country
Yet I still proceeded and reached my vantage point
Ironically I was sweating all over my body but shaking from the coldness of the air
Terror infected my veins as if I was getting an IV injected into my flesh
My eyes closed shut for only a moment
Contemplating on whether I should run or remain in my exact spot
However the hit was in place and therefore I cannot run away
NO GOING BACK
I spotted a shadow that arose from the back-way of the alley
A tall figure wearing a brown over coat with a fedora appeared from the shadow
Step
Step
Step
I began to feel extremely anxious as he came closer to me
The sound of my heart beat was very loud as if i was listening to a drum solo at a rock concert
BOOM
BOOM
BOOM
I pulled out the revolver
Approached the man
He gasped from the shock that fell upon him
The suspense was fierce like a blazing fire ready to kill
I stared into his eyes and felt sympathy for him
Yet I still cocked the murderous slaying machine
It was time
Ready…
Set…
Bang
