That Man
A store bubbling with personality
Vibrant with noise,
But one man sat alone
Pure and poised.
Something about him
Made the chipper choas calm
So I rowed over, humming along.
Stepping up in a rehearsed manner,
Reciting the words of my script.
The man smiled, a toothy smile
It made loose, what was unconscdiuoysly stiff.
He spoke his request
Like he gave it life.
I grinned and wrote down
What was simply floating around.
He reached out his hand,
Read his invisible script.
I questioned this man
And the presence he equipped,
As if he came from the heavens.
I disappeared to the cook
To prepare for the one with the poised look.
Returning with food and drink on hand,
I looked out and saw no man.
A sliver sparkled my soul,
It made my smile genuine and whole.
A small compartment, a pretty blue
Had these words that were for you.
"You might take orders, but you are still a customer, flip the script and join your comforter."
