A man in a dress shirt/

A man in a dress shirt, everyone called him a teacher

And he spoke truth, just like the preacher.

Defining right and wrong then explaining the difference

But we all just sat there struck with indifference

Not realizing what you were trying to do.

Teaching life lessons, but we just made fun of you.

Your enthusiasm roared all throughout the hall

But all we heard was a high-pitched squall.

We didn’t care about shake sphere or edger Allen Poe

We hated to it all and dreamed of snow

Just go through the motions and soon the bell will ring

Wasting your time, to sports we did cling.

Looking back now you were what we all needed

But it is now to late, our time we exceeded.

A thank you for now is all that we can give

So thank you teacher, for your purpose to live.
