The Man In My Dreams
It's a world no one sees.
I see it, only in my dreams.
Nothing is what it seems.
The man comes by,
As I start to cry.
The man has no face,
And he walks with such grace.
He takes me in his arms.
I know I, he will not harm.
To the field we will go,
And I already know,
The forest that surrounds it,
Will soon be a bottomless pit.
He places me in the center of the field,
There I lay, my heart not yet healed.
One tear shed,
As he said these words,
“You are okay now.”
He disappeared,
And left me there to cry.
I never knew,
What those words meant.
I never knew,
If the man with no face had lied.
He would never say goodbye,
And appear again the next night.
The same motion,
The same words.
A constant reality,
Inside my dreams.
In the very last dream,
The words were slightly different.
“It will be alright now.”
The man with no face said.
The next day we moved,
And I never had that dream again.
