The Man in the Night
The man in the night
still haunts her mind's sight.
She sees him the scars.
They cover her arms like jail bars
that remind her of the past.
The cuts are deep and fast.
She watches the blood run down
in memory of the nights no one heard a sound.
She begged him to leave
but he just rolled up his sleeves,
and kept on pushing
his body into hers, their bodies mashing.
She tried to push him back,
but then the night went black.
She woke in the morn
to see her close now torn.
She lay naked and alone,
faintly smelling of his cologne.
Crying inside, she never shows fear,
never wanting to come back here.
Now she lays awake in her bed,
replaying all those scenes in her head.
Letting the fear take control,
Letting her bod pay the toll
of the man in the night,
who still haunts her mind's sight
