Man or Bear

Am I in danger?
I look around at your kind
Almost all is the same
As a man or a bear
They say both bring danger
Some with the coldest hearts
Some with the warmest hearts
man or bear?
You bring me both
You bring me where I can feel the most love
Your kiss
Your touch
Your eyes on mine
Giving me warmth and joy
Having our secrets, our moments into one
Soft skin with a tender touch
An act of love
Only with you
But when the mist covers our eyes
The dangers feel more evident
As you’re holding me, I can’t breathe
Our kiss becomes venom
Savage, howling, resentful
Your eyes turn black
Your soft skin feels rough
Every day is the same question
Man or a bear
Man or a bear.
man or a bear?
I can’t decide
Why can’t you be one?
My decision would be easier
My thoughts of you would stop
I no longer feel one thing
You are a mix of emotions
It’s you I want to be with
You are the one I want
Yet I’m left broken
Even though you hurt me as a bear
Even though you loved me as a man
I see the love of my life in your arms
As you leave me
You come and go as you please
You have never made me hate you
At least, not for long
Our experiences filled with loss, but we both benefit in the end
This is why I can never answer
Man or Bear
