The Man Upon that Tree

I stare and ask

Who is that upon that tree?

He seems crushed and smitten

He seems to be weak and powerless

Who is that upon that tree?

Your followers call you the Christ

Your enemies call you Beelzebul

Who is that man upon that tree?

His name is Jesus of Nazereth

Born of a virgin

Fully God and Fully man

Who is that man upon that tree?

The King of kings,

The Lord of lords,

The Christ.

Who is that man upon that tree?

Jesus Christ who died for me

Jesus Christ who paid the penalty of my sin

What happened to the man upon that tree?

He rose again on the third day

He ascended to heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father

Who was the man who died upon a tree and rose again?

Jesus of Nazareth:

The Messiah,

The King of kings,

The Lord of lords,

The Creator,

God.
