Manifest Anxiety

I am never far away, I am never off of work.

I am at my strongest when your life is at its worst.

I can be suppressed or pushed aside, but when I’m free there is no hiding I.

I am indiscriminate, I like all kinds.

I am everywhere just like the sky.

Drugs and fun can cover me, but when I am free I can still feel thee.

The effects of my laughter as it hugs your ear,

Or my pressure against your lungs as I steal your air.

I present myself in the mightiest way, a way that all can see.

Although I form in different ways, I am known all the same.

I am like a cavity, you don’t usually see me,

But if you don't treat me, I can affect your roots like a tree.

I can be confusing, stressful, and appear quietly,

But when you feel me, you'll know I’m anxiety.
