At a time of loneliness or utter despair 

with no person able to reassure 

I would want my dog to be there

for important items she will procure

A mans best friend will always care

one who will go lengths to do more

A friend to thank, a topic of prayer 

the Island sun on her golden fur will allure 

My best friend is all I need on a lonely day

having company is essential on a secluded island

with persistent curiosity, she shows me the way

through struggle and hardship she never minded

Formidable times never threatened her stay

bonds between me and my companion are those of a diamond

ignorant and blissful however attention she will pay

A mans best friend is a dog, now you shall never have to be reminded
