Many Layers of the Sky

When white wings soar into tomorrow,
We weep with agonizing sorrow,
Holding our grasp tightly in the hands of the past,
Knowing in our flamboyant souls that it has gone horribly fast,
We dance amongst laughing leaves,
Then begin shivering in sweater sleeves,
A dusting of white,
Devours the eyes from sight,
Footprints leave mysterious trails,
Until suddenly one sails,
Into yet another,
Where a sound erupts from the sky called thunder,
When arms of warmth wrap your body in invisible quilts,
Flowers are reborn and waiting to wilt,
A breath of air blows briskly in the wind,
A flock of geese roam about with their kin,
Wishing this moment would never end,
We feel autumn’s breath send,
A message of warning that soon we are to revisit yet another season,
Although we just want to stay in this moment without having to reason.
