The Map Is Drawn

The map is drawn and the lands are imagined.

Nations formed out of mere thoughts.

Yet the places and peoples are unreal,

Their world is only a few marks and words.

Their histories have never been written.

The nations formed are only thoughts,

Their world is only few marks and words.

Not all histories are already written.

The map is drawn and the lands are imagined

But the nations formed are only thoughts,

More than a drawing, but less real

The map is drawn and the lands are imagined,

True, the nations formed are merely thoughts,

More than a drawing. But is it less real?

The people and places may be unreal,

But the nations formed are of my thoughts;

I drew the map and imagined the lands.
