As The Map Unfurled

Pain. Disease. Hunger. Lack. These words speak the condition of the masses. Our biggest concern in these 50 states is what kind of school lunch to pack. Forgetting we are privileged to even be in these classes. There is a girl growing up in desperate need of real food. There is a boy who has been searching for weeks for a doctor. While I sit in my unjustified self-pity wearing a sour mood. While I complain about the location of my high school locker. You see when I got a glimpse of the rest of the world, life became less about me and more about the millions who haven't gotten to eat. Its as if I caught a glimpse of this brand new map as it unfurled. And saw for the first time a stranger's need that I could meet.
