Marathon

My father is a runner. He is a living inspiration. He participated in an April marathon; His body was drenched with perspiration. With varying lengths of stride, My family saw his strength was drained. At last, a sudden boost of pride Allowed him to turn the tide. Team Raft cheered with the crowd, And our claps were catastrophically loud. The finish line was in close proximity; Dad sprinted and boosted his dignity. My father is a runner, But he panted like a dog. We Rafts then felt bittersweet That Dad's marathon is complete.
