Marine

They say, I say

They say I am a delinquent,

I say

I am a Marine

They say I won’t make it.

I say,

“I know I will”

And the challenges

I will have getting there

Will only make me stronger,

Bigger.

Faster,

Wiser

Keener,

Better.

So,

Don’t judge this book by his cover,

Read the chapters

And you’ll find

That I have what it takes.

They say,

I’m weak

I say,

I’m strong,

Mentally.

Physically.

Emotionally.

They say

I’m not good enough.

I’m tired of saying,

So I scream.

STOP

Putting me down

I’m GOING to be a Marine.

I WILL protect my country.

No matter what you say.

Thank you.
