Marine Wife

The fear of losing him is hard

only eleven months until he signs

the dotted line.

not knowing what is in store

she thinks positive and supports

every decision he makes.

deep down inside she doesn’t want him to go

but God has a plan

that nobody knows.

they will be married shortly before he goes

and she can call herself

a Marine wife.

This poem was just a homework assignment in a college course I was taking. I don't write poetry, but this poem just seemed right to post and share.
