The Mark of a Leader
How do we make a difference,
When we all have our own thoughts and preferences,
Do we only make a difference in the game,
Is that how we create our own fame,
When we win all the medals,
And become everyone's idols,
Is that how we become a leader,
And every great idea's founder,
Do we make a difference by being in the back,
Being those individuals not receiving a plaque,
Those who are working for everything,
And not receiving anything,
But picking themselves every time,
And assuring themselves that they will be fine.
That they will change one life every day,
Through everything that they do and say,
By being everyone's caregiver,
Is that the true mark of a leader.
To find the best in others,
And help them is what matters,
To leave no stone unturned,
Is what has me concerned,
For there is no better feeling than giving,
While inspiring others to start truly living,
By listening to every little detail,
And letting them get a chance to exhale,
In the comfort of a warm embrace,
As all of their problems begin to erase,
No matter who they are,
No matter how far,
If they need me anytime anywhere,
I will be there because I care,
