Marked

I have a flaw, one visible for all to see.

I can't run from it, because it burns through me.

Its soft and round, easily found.

It sticks out, without any doubt.

It centers around my forehead.

I see it every day within my reflection, I turn my head away in dismay.

This mark I was born with, that I can not dismiss.

I do not know why its there, or what it means.

All I know is that it haunts my dreams.

This flaw, this mark, so red and dark.

Its left there to bare, for all to see.

An imperfect me.

Beyond anything, I want it long gone.

This mark of mine, one I can never hide.
