Marlie-Jean

Eighteen years on this Earth and to me material things mean nothing,
But Most people would still want to take a special something.
What I can't live without, I have, but to this day their entrance into the world in my heart wouldn't change.
A baby is born pure; doesn't know any wrong.
Capable of trust, and working to be strong.
Around the same time is when I was weak,
Nowhere to turn and could hardly speak.
Miss Marlie entered my life just in time, making me an Auntie and I know just why.
I'd been down for a while, and things were really tough
I couldn't find happiness because stuff was just stuff,
But the night need spread of her birth, I finally wanted to stay on this Earth.
My niece is my world, whether she knows it or not
Hopefully the world will never cause her to rot;
Because that's the thing about babies, they're innocent and pure
And this special little girl happened to be my cure.
