Marooned

Lone in a sea of molten glass, I fling a pebble to the water as far away as I could, And watch it fester inside me. Can you see the ripples in the puddles on our street, Like twitches in lucid dreams? But I am trapped on this desolate island, With only the shadow I cast beside me. Walking along the sand ridden path, I find questions but no answers. No one to respond to me out here but the echo of my own voice, Though all I really need is an outlet.
