Marriage
Her tears bled through her makeup
Sitting across me in a mess of chaotic pleasure
Her jeans in tatters and hair a little bit rough
Sobs escaping and face only getting redder
Is this what i stand for at this day and age
To hear the pleas of another forsaken soul
If only she could know what was written on the next page
With empathy so bountiful since i never grow
“It’s all my fault, I should've done more”
Muttering such accusations in bursts of outpours
A husband so lustful he left her alone
To bear the world by herself with her heart on the phone
I was once like her with a man that was poison
A waste of power that i regret was chosen
It has been years and i know my own worth
So I insight the woman in the sanctity of the hearth
It is never your fault, you are the victim
The man you married should be ridden
For I am marriage and i know whats best
It is no lie that your heart is in distress
But rest assured you are more
For i am your marriage counselor
The advocate of your life
The queen of the heavens
I am Hera
