Mars Meets Venus
We laid under the sky- just us two
As more people arrived to the given area we left-I drove
And to the high school we went-anxiety floated through my pulsing veins
Walking onto the turf, I counted my steps -eight to five and I still had it
It was just us two- and I teased him
The chase is always fun- seeing what each will bring to the invisible table
Reaching the vault landing pad
I laid down and gazed at the stars- we immediately spotted Mars and Venus
How simple it all is now- to think our own planets had been spotted that night
We laughed and joked- messed around, just simple nothing involved fun
And that's when it happened- as we locked hands and drew closer
Our lips collided.
