Martyr of the Coptic Church


1) Our God the Forgiver Doesn’t reject any sinner Even Arianus the governor Hail to our beloved saint 2) Over Ansena, he ruled And the Christians he tortured He had them slain and martyred Hail to our beloved saint 3) God wanted Arianus to obey And to put his sins away So He changed his life in one day Hail to our beloved saint 4) The beginning of his conversion Was when Apollonius the musician Confessed that he was Christian Hail… 5) Apollonius’s martyrdom Lured Arianus to God’ kingdom According to divine wisdom Hail… 6) An arrow which was intended For the martyr to be executed Hit Arianus’s eye instead Hail… 7) The blood that the martyr shed Healed the eye that was wounded So Arianus repented Hail… 8) Arianus immediately Destroyed his idols openly And treated Christians kindly Hail… 9) When the news reached Diocletian That Arianus became Christian He punished him for his actions Hail… 10) The emperor asked Arianus And saw his firm faithfulness So he grew even more furious Hail… 11) The saint was tortured harshly Then locked mercilessly Into a pit to die painfully Hail… 12) By an angel, he was delivered From the pit, and transported Next to Diocletian’s bed Hail… 13) Upon seeing Arianus released Diocletian’s wrath increased And his cruelty was unappeased Hail… 14) The emperor without pity Ordered that Arianus be Thrown in a hair sack in the sea Hail… 15) On the eighth of Baramhat St. Arianus’s spirit Reached its heavenly target Hail… 16) Our Lord the Almighty Had a sea creature carry St. Arianus’s body Hail… 17) God had told the saint before That his body would be cared for And sent to Alexandria’s shore Hail… 18) When the people of the city Found St. Arianus’s body They received it joyfully Hail… 19) The bodies of Sts. Arianus Philemon and Apollonius Were laid in the same place Hail… 20) We thank our Good Savior For offering honor To any repentant sinner Hail… 21) Let us take St. Arianus As an example for us To rush and become righteous Hail… 22) The door of heaven Always remains open We just need to take action Hail…
